The follow-up SDR that never lets a deal go cold.

I built a Claude Code agent that chases every unanswered proposal and every candidate who goes quiet, across email and LinkedIn, up to 5 touches then it stops. Here is the walkthrough and the exact prompts to build your own.

The walkthrough

The 20-minute build, start to finish.

Why this matters

In a recruitment business, money leaks from two places nobody chases.

Both cost you placements. Both are warm. Both get dropped because you are busy doing the work.

Here is what that looks like in a typical month:

● Client side
20
Proposals sent, no response
● Candidate side
50
Candidates that ghosted interviews
● THE CLIENT SIDE

The proposal that goes quiet

You send a proposal or terms, hear nothing, and never follow up. A warm client who almost signed slips back to cold.

● THE CANDIDATE SIDE

The process that stalls

A strong candidate goes quiet mid-process, or a hiring manager owes feedback and you let it sit. The placement quietly dies.

How it works

One Claude Code agent on both sides of your desk.

1

It scans for the leaks

Every client we sent a proposal to with no reply in 3 days, and every candidate who has gone quiet in an active process.

2

It starts a tailored follow-up

A personalised sequence over email and LinkedIn for each one, written in your voice, matched to where they went quiet.

3

It stops at 5, then tells you

Up to 5 touch points, then it stops so you never get classified as annoying, and notifies you who is back in play.

Build it yourself

Set this up in your own Claude Code in 5 prompts.

Open Claude Code, then paste these prompts in order. Swap the tool names for whatever you run. Each one builds on the last.

Connect your stack

Point Claude Code at the tools where your deals and candidates actually live, plus where you want to be notified.

Paste into Claude Code
Connect to my CRM (Attio), then my ATS, then my LinkedIn outreach tool (HeyReach), plus my email (Gmail) and Slack, using MCP. Confirm you can read my sales pipeline and my candidate pipeline, and that you can draft emails, push LinkedIn messages, and post to Slack.

Teach it the two leaks

Tell it exactly what to look for on both sides of the desk, every single day.

Paste into Claude Code
Every day, find two things for me:
1. Deals in the "Proposal Sent" stage with no reply from the prospect in 3 or more days.
2. Candidates in an active process with no activity in 3 or more days, or where a hiring manager still owes feedback.
For each one, pull the name, company, role, last contact date, and the channel we last used.

Set the follow-up rules

Lock the cadence, the cap, and your voice so it never goes off-script or annoys anyone.

Paste into Claude Code
For each person, run a follow-up sequence over email and LinkedIn. Space the touches 2 to 3 days apart. Write every message in my voice: short, human, and referencing the specific proposal or the exact stage they went quiet in. Stop after a maximum of 5 total touches so we never get marked as spam.

Note: you can also paste your own copy and give it exact branching rules, for example, if they never replied send variation A, if they replied once and then went quiet send variation B, and so on for each step.

Email to draft, LinkedIn to your tool

Keep a human in the loop where it counts. Email lands as a Gmail draft you approve. LinkedIn has no draft state, so those get pushed straight into your LinkedIn automation tool to send.

Paste into Claude Code
Do not auto-send email. Create every email follow-up as a draft in my Gmail for me to review and send. LinkedIn has no draft, so push each LinkedIn follow-up into HeyReach as a queued step in the sequence. Then post one summary to my Slack with who is being followed up, on which channel, and why.

Put it on a schedule

Make it run every morning on its own, so a warm lead never sits another day.

Paste into Claude Code
Save this as a routine that runs every weekday at 9am. On each run, notify me in Slack with the list of follow-ups you drafted, plus anyone who has replied since yesterday so I can move them forward.

That is the whole agent. Watch the walkthrough above to see each step running live, or have us wire it into your stack for you.
